   Offline Mode has been introduced as a new assessment type that mirrors the experience of paper-based testing. Admins can configure assessments by either uploading a custom PDF or using a system-generated version. Students can download the test, solve it offline, and later return to the platform to submit their responses digitally. Delete feature for assessments has been added
This feature will only remove assessments that have not had any sessions generated, meaning no users have attempted them.

Introduction of NIP Block in Classrooms
An evaluation logic has been introduced in the NIP blocks of assessments in the previous release. This same update is now applied in Classrooms. We no longer need to provide all the computed values in the workflow.

Character limit for NIP block input values
A limit of 5 characters has been imposed for the admin input in the NIP block within the classroom and for the NIP question type in the assessment question bank.
A proper validation message has been provided to notify users of this limitation. Please refer to the accompanying note for further details.

Time Zone Display in Assessment Summary and PDF Report

The assessment summary on the platform now shows the admin's local time zone. However, in the PDF report, the time will be displayed in GMT (UTC) to maintain clarity and avoid confusion across different time zones.

Auto-Extract First and Last Names During Public Enrollment

When enrolling through a public assessment URL, the system will now automatically extract the first and last names from the full name entered by the user. These names will be appropriately assigned to the user's account during the account creation process.

In EdisonOS, we initially enforced a mandatory full-screen mode during assessments to ensure focus. However, this created issues for students using iPads, as the floating keyboard conflicted with full-screen mode, particularly when answering NIP questions. To resolve this, we have now introduced the option to disable full-screen mode, enhancing flexibility and improving the test-taking experience on iPads.

2. Mandatory Email or Mobile Verification for Sign-Up

We have enhanced the sign-up process by requiring email or mobile verification. Now, when users or students sign up on the platform, they must verify their email or mobile number, as configured by the admin, before gaining access.

3. New NIP (Numerical Input Problem) Classroom Block

We've added an NIP block, similar to the NIP problem in assessments, allowing admins to create and evaluate NIP questions more efficiently within the classroom curriculum.

4. Enhanced Email and Mobile Validation on the Checkout Page

When users registered with their mobile numbers, the information wasn't forwarded to the payment gateway during checkout. We’ve fixed this issue. Now, if a user signs up with a mobile number, that information is passed to the payment gateway, ensuring a smooth purchase process.

5. Auto-Pause Feature for Classroom Video Player

Previously, when a student was watching a classroom video and switched tabs or minimized the window, the video would continue playing. We've improved this user experience. Now, if a student moves to another tab or minimizes the window, the video will automatically pause and resume when they return, helping them stay focused.

6. Optimized Session Recording Download

There was an issue preventing admins from downloading uploaded live class session recordings. This has now been fixed, allowing admins to download recordings seamlessly.

7. Live Location Capture for Class Attendance

Previously, we recorded the timestamp of the student's location during live classes. Now, we have optimized this process to also capture the student's live location. This enhancement helps teachers understand where students are attending their lectures in real-time.

The email and mobile number fields are now fully configurable. You can choose to show or hide either field and set them as mandatory or optional for user signup.

2. Increased Pagination Limit:

The maximum paginated results limit for the question bank folder preview feature has been increased to 500.

Both admins and users can now report bugs for questions directly from the “Detailed Summary” tab of the assessment summary, enhancing the feedback and troubleshooting process.

Enhanced Logo Click Redirection for Personalized User Experience

Introducing a new update for logo click redirection, allowing administrators to set a target URL from the branding settings. For authenticated users, clicking the logo will seamlessly redirect them to the dashboard. Unauthenticated users will be redirected to a customized URL set in the branding settings. This enhancement empowers administrators to refine user experiences based on authentication status, ensuring a smoother and more personalized journey for all users.

We have enhanced the user experience by streamlining the purchasing process. Users who click 'Buy Now' on the store page will be redirected to the signup page if not already logged in. We are excited to introduce a new feature that enhances the learning experience by automatically generating certificates for users who meet the specified completion criteria for each classroom. Bulk Question Tag Creation & Deletion

Tags are crucial in the analysis of student tests. Previously, admins had to individually review each question to add or remove tags. However, the team has recently launched an update that allows admins to add or delete tags for multiple questions simultaneously with very minimal clicks.

Enhanced User Sorting on Enrollment Page

In the previous assessment enrollment page, users were not listed in a proper order, with the latest enrolled users appearing at the end. However, following the update, newly enrolled users are now displayed at the top, making it easier for admins to quickly see who has been enrolled recently.

Unenrollment of Users

Previously, if an administrator mistakenly enrolled a student, there was no option to remove them, leading to a waste of assessment attempts. However, the team has now introduced a feature that allows administrators to "Unenroll" students whom they have mistakenly added. This feature can also be used to unenroll any student who has not made an attempt.

Enhanced Validation for NIP Question Types

In the preexisting update, when students took math tests containing NIP (Numerical Input Problems) questions, they were able to enter alphabets and various symbols, leading to discrepancies since the system would not calculate values other than numbers. The team has now improved the NIP validation by restricting input to fixed characters (0-9, '.', '/', '-') for students to use, ensuring accuracy in responses.

Admin Preview Feature

Earlier, administrators were required to enroll themselves to review questions from the user side, resulting in unnecessary use of assessment attempts. Addressing this, the team has introduced a "Preview" option within the question bank, enabling administrators to easily browse through questions without needing to enroll.

Admin report UI/UX update

Significant enhancements have been implemented in the interface of the report download option on the administrative side. These improvements aim to streamline the user experience, making it more intuitive and efficient for administrators to access and manage reports.

In response to user feedback, EdisonOS has revamped the credit utilization logic for assessments. Previously, even practice tests with a single section were counted as one credit. Now, the system differentiates between mock tests and regular assessments. For assessments with only one section, it is treated as one-fourth of an attempt. For multi-sectional tests, each attempt is counted as one, addressing concerns about fair credit allocation. Admin attempts are excluded from the count, providing a more accurate representation of learner engagement.

Enhanced Assessment Filtering

EdisonOS introduces refined assessment filtering options. Users can now easily categorize assessments with labels for improved organization. When accessing the assessments, labels are prominently displayed, allowing for quick identification and selection. This feature streamlines the assessment management process, providing a more intuitive and efficient user experience.

Detailed Summary Settings

A new customization option is introduced for assessment summary views. Admins now can control the visibility of detailed summaries on the learner's side. Two settings are available:

• Hide Details Summary: Completely hides the details summary tab, preventing learners from accessing correct answers and explanations.

• Show Details Summary Without Answers: Displays the summary tab but withholds correct answers and explanations from learners.

This customization enhances flexibility, catering to diverse preferences in presenting assessment details. Importantly, these changes only impact the learner's side, ensuring admins retain full access to all information. When reviewing assessments from the admin side, no changes will be observed. Admins can still view detailed information, and the download report feature remains unaffected by these customization settings. Admins have full control and access to assessment details, maintaining transparency and oversight.

Option to Add Bias Values to Scale Scores

In the realm of assessment settings, admins can now leverage the Bias Value option to adjust scale scores. Enabling bias allows the specification of positive or negative bias values in predefined steps (e.g., -10, -20, +30), impacting overall scores for both reading and math sections. This feature enhances customization, providing a nuanced approach to score calculation based on individual preferences or testing requirements.

Classroom Reattempt Option

Responding to user needs, we've introduced the Reattempt Option in Classroom Assessments. Now, users can re-attempt tests within the same classroom assessment block, offering flexibility for learners aiming to improve their performance. Admins can enable or disable this option based on their preferences, tailoring the learning experience to better suit their educational goals.

Public Summary Link in Assessment Report

Enhancing the assessment summary report, admins now have access to a new column containing a public summary link. This link allows quick access to the assessment summary directly from the report, providing a streamlined experience for administrators managing and analyzing assessment data.

Increased Break Time Configuration

Acknowledging the importance of flexibility, we've expanded break time configuration options. Admins can now set break times up to 60 minutes, offering greater control over assessment durations and accommodating diverse testing requirements.

Option to Unenroll Users Directly from the Classroom People Tab

Admins now have the convenience of unenrolling users directly from the Classroom People tab. This streamlined process enhances user management, providing a quicker way to adjust enrollments without navigating through multiple sections of the platform.

Update to Payment Status for Failed Payments 

We've enhanced payment status management by introducing the ability to update initiated payments to a "Failed" status. Admins now have more control over payment statuses, ensuring an accurate representation of transaction outcomes, even when payments are not successfully processed.

Now, in addition to downloading attempt reports as PDFs at an ‘attempt’ level admins can download Excel reports at a user level, and a consolidated report for the last or first attempt of all users in a particular assessment.

User Assessment Level: For simplicity, a new download button has been added at the user level, allowing admins to download the last attempt for any specific user.

Assessment Reports for all users Excel Download: A new feature allows admins to download a consolidated report of the last or first attempts for all users in a particular assessment. This report is particularly useful for obtaining an overview of student performance across the board.

Increased File Upload Limit in Classroom Blocks

Responding to the evolving needs of educators and learners, the maximum file size allowed for upload to a submission block has been increased from 5 MB to 10 MB. This enhancement provides users with greater flexibility, enabling them to upload larger files with a variety of multimedia seamlessly.

Assessment Scheduling 

EdisonOS introduces a new feature in Assessments where educators can now enable Scheduling, allowing them to plan and organize assessments efficiently. Admins can now allow a user to make a stipulated number of attempts at a test within a selected timeframe. This feature aims to empower trainers by enabling precise control over assessment timelines and enhanced focus among learners with limited attempts within a specified timeframe.

EdisonOS has significantly improved the Submission Block functionality within the Classroom Curriculum. Trainers can now review learner submissions, provide feedback, and assign grades directly within the platform. Previously, trainers could only download submissions for offline review. With the introduction of a new Submissions tab, administrators have a centralized view of all submissions and their status, making it easier to manage and track learner progress. This enhancement allows trainers to have a more streamlined workflow. They can now offer detailed feedback, and scores, and even upload annotated files directly within the platform. This feature allows the embedding of public assessments directly into the curriculum, eliminating the need for learners to provide duplicate signup details when accessing assessments from curriculum links. LaTeX notation enabled in MCQ block

EdisonOS has expanded the editing capabilities by enabling support for LaTeX equations within multiple-choice questions in the curriculum. Improved print layout PDF Downloads

PDF versions of curriculum content now include proper page breaks, resolving prior issues of entire pages printing as a single scroll. Desmos calculator: EdisonOS has recently introduced the Desmos calculator, which is a free online graphing calculator that has been widely adopted in the education community. This calculator can be opened by test takers during an assessment to perform any necessary calculations.

The Desmos calculator is known for its ease of use and powerful features. It allows users to graph functions, plot data, and perform a wide range of mathematical calculations. The calculator has a user-friendly interface that makes it easy to navigate and use.

The addition of the Desmos calculator to the Assessment platform is a significant improvement for test takers. It allows them to perform complex calculations more efficiently and accurately, which can help them to achieve better scores on assessments.

Configuring results page/ thank you page: In a public assessment, the admin has the ability to configure whether to show the results page or thank you page at the end of each assessment. The results page displays the score and performance metrics of the test taker, while the thank you page simply thanks the test taker for completing the assessment.

The results page provides valuable feedback to test takers on their performance, allowing them to identify areas where they need improvement. However, in some cases the admin may want to display the thank you page instead as it may not be necessary to display the results to the test taker. In this case, the thank you page can be used to simply thank the test taker for their time and effort.

EdisonOS only provides this configuration for public assessments where the admin has the ability and flexibility to configure whether to show the results page or thank you page at the end of each assessment in the backend of the assessment platform.

Stripe payment gateway integration: Stripe is a popular online payment gateway that allows businesses to accept payments from customers. EdisonOS now enables Stripe integration on the platform.

This new integration enables businesses to expand their customer base and sell products to more customers around the world. It allows customers to pay for their purchases using their local currency (INR, USD, EUR and GBP), which makes the payment process more convenient and seamless.

Stripe's integration on the platform is a significant development for businesses looking to expand globally.

Managing issued certificates:  Learners on the EdisonOS platform can earn certificates upon successful completion of a course or training program. To ensure that users receive their certificates in a timely manner, the system by default sends an email notification when a certificate is issued.

The new configurable option enables the admin to choose whether to notify users about issued certificates via email. This means that the admin can turn the notification off, depending on their preference or the specific needs of their organization.

If the notification configuration is selected, users will not receive an email with a digital copy of their certificate as soon as it is issued. Instead, the admin will need to log into their account to access and download their certificate.

On the other hand, if the notification configuration is unselected, users will receive an email notification when their certificate is issued along with information on how to download and share the certificate.

Tenant admin users view: EdisonOS has a new display that makes it effortless to find all users who have any kind of admin access. This view allows admins to quickly view and manage all users with admin access in one place. This feature provides a clear overview of the user's role making it easier for admins to ensure that the right users have the right access.

The view enhances security by ensuring that admin access is closely monitored and controlled. With this feature, tenant administrators can easily revoke admin access for users who no longer require it, minimizing the risk of unauthorized access or data breaches.

Detailed classroom summary report for data frame blocks: EdisonOS now provides a detailed report of data pertaining to data frame blocks. This report includes an overview of the learner's performance as well as detailed column-level accuracy for each learner.

The detailed report allows administrators to easily identify areas where learners may be struggling and take appropriate actions to provide additional support. The report provides column-level accuracy for each learner, allowing administrators to pinpoint exactly which areas need improvement.

The CSV report is user-friendly and can be downloaded in just one click.

With EdisonOS, administrators have full control over the assessment configurations for their learners. For example, an admin may require learners to complete the entire assessment before leaving a mock test, or they may allow learners to exit an assessment and resume it later at their convenience.

In cases where admins allow assessment resuming, learners can save and leave an assessment in progress and return to it at any time. Conversely, if admins have not configured the assessment to resume, learners must finish the assessment in one sitting and will not be able to resume it once they exit. This setting is entirely at the discretion of the admin.

By providing admins with the option to enable or disable assessment resuming, EdisonOS empowers them to tailor the assessment experience to the needs of their learners. Whether learners need the flexibility to take breaks during an assessment or must complete it in one sitting, EdisonOS offers the necessary tools to ensure a successful learning outcome.

Admin interruption: Assessments are a critical component of measuring a learner's understanding of a subject and can help them improve throughout the course material. However, admins should always have the flexibility and control to navigate the learner's experience better.

For instance, a learner may accidentally exit their assessment while attempting and may not resume their assessment or the admin may notice discrepancies in a learner's assessment and want to terminate their session. In such cases, EdisonOS allows the admin to interrupt an ongoing session and generate a session summary. Once the admin ends the ongoing session, the learner will no longer be able to attempt it.

The ability for admins to interrupt an ongoing session is a valuable feature that empowers them to take control of the assessment experience. By generating a session summary, admins can gain valuable insights into the learner's progress and tailor their learning experience accordingly.

Public assessments: As an educator, you may wish to create assessments that are freely available to the public or to your students and others without requiring enrollment. In these scenarios, EdisonOS offers a useful feature that allows you to make your assessment public, which generates a unique URL that you can share with your learners, their peers, or even on your social media channels. This makes it easy for anyone to access and take the assessment, and also helps you to increase your visibility as an educator.

Security enhancements and user session logs on assessments: Security is a critical aspect of any assessment, and it is essential to protect the integrity of the assessment process. In order to ensure this, EdisonOS has implemented several security enhancements for assessments. One of these enhancements is the warning prompt that appears when a user tries to apply the browser back button, close the browser or tab, or shift to another tab while the assessment is still ongoing. This warning prevents learners from accidentally exiting the assessment or losing their progress, ensuring that they are focused on the assessment.

In addition to this, EdisonOS provides a comprehensive logging system that keeps track of user activities during assessments. This includes recording when an overall test session has been started and ended, as well as when individual sections have been started and ended. This information is logged to ensure that users complete the assessment within the allotted time frame and to keep track of their progress.

Moreover, the system also logs when a user exits the test and resumes back to it, as well as when they try to close or refresh the browser or tab. This logging system is critical in ensuring the integrity of the assessment, as it helps administrators to monitor user activity during the assessment and helps maintain the accuracy of the assessment results.

Enhancements to text editor for assessment question creation: The assessment question creation process can often involve the use of images, which can sometimes be a cumbersome process. With EdisonOS, we have improved the text editor to allow for seamless uploading of images directly into the question creation interface. with an undo-redo option, which can help in the event of any mistakes or changes that need to be made during the question creation process. This makes the process of creating assessment questions smoother and more efficient.

Multi-image upload in image slider block: Image slider blocks are much more convenient to use. You can streamline your curriculum creation process simply by uploading all images in one go, saving time compared to individual image uploads.

Asynchronous image upload: Uploading images has a new look and feel on the lexical editor. When uploading images to the editor you can easily edit the content while its image is being loaded. You no longer have to wait for the image to be uploaded 100% in order to add content to it.

Collapsible container: There are times when as an instructor you would want to add content nested or toggled into another. In such cases, you need to have an accordion or collapsible feature in place. EdisonOS now has the collapsible feature as part of the lexical editor where one can easily nest their content into another.

Image Zooming: Content for a learner must be clear and easy to read. At times uploading images may not be up to the right size making it difficult for learners to comprehend the image. EdisonOS lets the learners zoom into images uploaded via the image block for easy understanding and better viewing of every image.

Increase in maximum attempts for an assessment: When assigning an assessment, you may want to add the number of attempts a learner can make with respect to the particular assessment. EdisonOS lets you edit the maximum number of attempts each learner can make to an assessment. Every learner can either have the same number of attempts or individual learners can have a different number of attempts, the choice is yours.

Increase in maximum duration for an assessment: When setting up an assessment the time duration of the assessment is highly important. With EdisonOS, you can now set the time duration for each assessment ranging from 1 hr to 5 hrs. Setting up a time duration for your learner will help them practice better for competitive exams or examinations in general.

Show finish button while attempting the last section: When attempting an assessment, the learners navigate through sections using the next button. Now, on completing the last section, i.e., when they finish the assessment EdisonOS will display the finish button rather than the next button (displayed earlier).

Show/ hide section timer: While attempting an assessment it is important for learners to be aware of the time for each section as this helps them practice better. But for many, the timer can be a distraction during the course of the assessment. EdisonOS lets learners hide/show the timer based on their convenience. But once the timer reaches the last 5 minutes of the assessment, the hide/ show button will no longer be displayed and the timer will display on the screen in red.

Resume testing button: Assessments have an option to set break times between sections. There are times when a learner may not want the break time and would rather finish their assessment by skipping the break. In such cases, EdisonOS lets the learner resume their assessment with the help of the resume testing button. The learner will easily skip the break between sections and can complete their assessment in a flow.

Certificates: Certificates are a symbol of validation when one is trained in any field. With a certificate at hand, one can showcase their acquired knowledge, skill and add them as an achievement to their profile. While running an institute you may want your learners to be certified with your courses. This helps others recognise and acknowledge your institute through your learners' acquired skills and knowledge. With EdisonOS you can now create your own certificate for every learner in your institute. The certificate can be designed and built from scratch to represent your institute in every detail possible. Classroom Label: Running an online institute is not easy and handling various aspects in an online institute can be even more challenging. If you’re an institute with many courses to offer then you definitely will need help structuring, organising and managing all classrooms. Imagine if you’re an institute in the music space. You will definitely have classes for singing and instruments. But singing and instruments are very broad categories. Three Column or Two Column Layout for Blocks: Creating content for your learners should not just be sharing context but should also be visually appealing. Visual appearance, ease of navigation, ease of reading all play a major role in a learners grasping ability. EdisonOS allows you to place  your content into different columns based on which representation would best support the content. You can have content placed in single columns or two or three columns. Image Attachment for News and Notice Editor: News and notices are the best way to communicate to your learners for any updates with respect to your course or their learning journey. For instance if you have classroom specific updates you can use the notice feature to share the said updates, but if you have articles related to online learning that can boost your learners’ performance you can use the news feature to share the article. But with the new EdisonOS platform editor you don’t just provide plain text to reach out to your learners, you can engage them with updates with images as well. This helps your learner grasp and visualise mundane posts much better.

Classroom Cover Image and Icon Upgrade: Cover images and icons for classrooms on the platform were designed to keep your classroom more appealing and also to help your learners associate and identify the classroom better. With the new EdisonOS platform upgrade the cover image and icon will now appear only on the classroom tab (from the dashboard), on the sidebar of each classroom and under each classroom’s settings. The cover image will no longer appear in tabs like curriculum, news etc. This helps you get better visibility of each feature on the platform.

Note: If you wish to change the cover image and icon for a classroom you can do so from the settings option inside your classroom.

Classroom Sidebar Upgrade: The classroom sidebar has been upgraded to give you better visibility of features on the platform. The sidebar now showcases the classroom cover image and the classroom status (draft, maintenance, published) to help you have an overall picture of your classroom.

Pop-up for Delete Actions: There are times when you accidentally press something on the platform and it may not be undone or may cause major inconvenience for your platform users. One such accidental action is deletion of features or integrations. The new platform upgrade provides a pop-up before permanently deleting an integration from the platform such as Zoom, Instamojo or RazorPay. You can now be sure if you would want to delete an integration by choice or avoid a major mishap for your online institute.

Classroom Status Tags: While creating a product it may not be possible to remember every classroom status on the platform. Moreover it is pretty inconvenient to constantly go back and check the classroom status (draft, maintenance, published) each time you would like to add a classroom to the product. EdisonOS now displays the status of each classroom in the product dropdown menu while creating the product or editing it. No more hassles to know the classroom status while creating your products.  

Classroom Summary: As an admin of the online institute you might want to know the progress of a class or the overall performance of learners or check the engagement of learners with the respective classroom, in such cases you will need an overview of the classroom and learner metrics. EdisonOS provides a classroom summary with the learners progress, scores and engagement with the classroom. It’s now easy to keep track of each classroom and make important decisions on classroom upgrades, learner engagement and learning enhancement of each individual classroom.

Classroom Draft, Maintenance and Publish Setting: When an instructor creates a classroom they would want to publish it to learners once it is complete. No instructor would like a learner to access a half created course or a course that is still under construction. EdisonOS helps you keep a classroom in draft mode unless you would want to publish it. When a classroom is created on the platform the classroom is not available immediately to the learners, it is in draft mode unless you publish it to learners.  At the same time if you have a course already published but feel the need to add more content or update it then you easily bring your class to maintenance mode, update the course as per need and publish it again. This way your course doesn’t seem incomplete to your learners.

Note: When your classroom is in draft or maintenance mode then your learners will not be able to access any content from the course.

Hide/Display Page: As an instructor when you create courses you may want to, at times, hide certain pages of your course or unhide certain pages. With EdisonOS you can now easily hide/display your pages when required with a click of a button.

Curriculum Progress for Learners: As an instructor you would want your learners to know the progress they are making through every course. In such cases it is neither easy nor feasible to individually make known each learner’s progress. The EdisonOS platform now has the progress tracker for each lesson or course the learner takes, thereby making it easier for them to keep track of their progress directly from within the platform.

Page Completion: Learners can now easily move on through the course by marking each section as complete before moving on with the course. By marking the section as completed not only does the learner move on with ease to the next section but also gets his progress tracker updated for the course.

Rich Text Editor for MCQ: The MCQ block for classrooms now has a rich text editor where you can add content with different styles, alignments or present it in more fun and creative ways.

Prerequisite: As an instructor you might want certain sections of the course to be accessed only after previous sections have been completed. For instance you might have a revision or recap section in your course which should be accessed only after your learners have completed or accessed the previous materials or sections. In situations like these, the EdisonOS platform lets you mark sections to be accessed later as prerequisites, which means that your learners can only access that section after completing all the previous sections that are part of the course.

Product Search in Promotions: When you create a promotion you can now search for all the products that can be added to the respective promotion you have to offer.

Classroom Publish Changes: When a course is created and published the contents also need to be published along with it. When just a classroom is created on the EdisonOS platform and published the contents do not get published along with it. This is done as an instructor might want potential customers to be aware of the course while purchasing but is not yet ready with the content. But if you have the content in place and the course is ready to be given to your learners in order for them to start learning then you need to publish the content as well. This can be done through the publish changes tab inside the classroom. Everytime you add content in any of the published courses, the changes have to be published so the learners can access them. The publish change tab is used to publish iterative changes, to an already existing content or new content, made to a published course.

Resume Learning: Learning after a break is now convenient for your learners. If your learners have taken a breather while currently progressing through a course they can easily resume their sessions exactly from where they left off. EdisonOS keeps track of the learners progress so that it’s easy for them to start their sessions immediately.

End Meeting Control to Admin: When an online institute has many live sessions lined up for a day (via Zoom) it also means that the host must be available. For instance a live session is taken for half an hour in the given time frame and the next session must start. By ending the session only on Zoom does not make the host available for other instructors to conduct their sessions. In another case let’s say the class has ended before time and another instructor would like to take up that extra time slot to teach his learners, the instructor doesn need the Zoom host to be available for conducting the session. This is where Zoom meeting disable comes into play. The EdisonOS platform lets you disable the ongoing Zoom meeting in the settings tab and makes the host available for the next session.

Disable Product Purchase & Store Settings: As an organization there will be times when you would like to create courses just for internal usage or would like to update courses for. In such cases you will not want the public to view your products or make purchases from your store. So how do you tackle the situation? You should be able to hide your store and products from the public eye. You can achieve this easily with EdisonOS, where you can disable and enable the purchase settings for both your product and store. For instance if you would like certain courses to be updated the best thing to do would be disabling your product purchase and making changes to the courses. This will only allow the public to view your products, what courses they contain but not make any purchase. But, if you’re an institute wanting to share courses only to your institute students then the best option would be to disable your store entirely from the platform where products purchase, cart page, checkout page, none will be accessible. The store page as a whole will not be accessible. That keeps the public unaware of what products and courses you have in store. The disable feature makes it easier to revamp your courses and gives you the opportunity to choose whether or not to showcase your products to others.

Note: When both the product and store purchase is disabled, then the store disabling purchase will take precedence over product disabling purchase.

Classroom Delete: Creating classrooms for your online institute does not mean that the classroom has to permanently reside on your platform. For instance as an admin you may want certain unused classrooms to be deleted from the platform. Or, any classroom that is not in parallel with the current curriculum or is outdated you may want to remove from your online institute entirely. But how do you pull out such courses? EdisonOS now allows you to delete classrooms from the platform directly. When you delete a classroom it will no longer be visible to you or your learners. Any discussion channels, meeting scheduled, content etc. associated with the classroom to be deleted, will no longer be accessible. It’s easy to keep your online institute updated and curriculum oriented with classroom deletion.

Note: If a classroom is linked to a product then the classroom can not be deleted from the institute.

Payments Table: The payments table now has an updated view of the user’s information for every offline transaction made.

The EdisonOS platform now handles the pop-up blocker while attending a session on Zoom. With a default pop-up in place, one can easily access live sessions, on Zoom, irrespective of browsers and systems.

As an admin, learner or instructor, if you wish to join or start a live session, a pop-up will appear informing you that you are about to enter a live class, and the pop-up will redirect you towards the live session.

Now, no more hassles from browsers or systems while joining a live class.

Roles: Running an online institute with a growing base is not easy. Every user in your online institute plays different roles, and not one user is the same. How do you differentiate amongst your users to keep track of their respective roles and contributions to your institute? For instance, it's easier to keep track of each individual's various roles in the institute when it comes to brick and mortar schools or institutes. You may say that a ledger is enough to refer to. But, how many times and pages will you run through to refer? To solve this major issue, the EdisonOS platform has developed a new feature update called roles. Roles help you create and assign custom roles to individual users, enabling you to understand how each user contributes to your online institute. You can either create a brand new role for every user or use existing roles; the choice is users. With roles, you can also limit the accessibility for every user and ensure that every user has the required permissions to navigate through your online institute. Now you can quickly identify your users and understand their responsibilities without the burden of maintaining separate records.

Note: Even if you give access to all platform specifications to your user’s role, the user does not become a super admin to your institute. Instead, they become sub-admins. Every institute can only have one super admin with multiple sub-admins. A super admin will have the same privileges and more than a sub-admin in the institute.

Product Purchase Success URL Change: When you run an online institute you would want your institute or courses to reach mass audiences. Here’s where goal-based or conversion-based ads/campaigns come into play. The campaigns are run to generate leads or encourage a user to make purchases or perform actions on your websites. But what you need is a tracker to identify the conversion from your campaigns running across platforms. Let’s say, you are running a social media ads campaign and your campaign's goal is for the customer to either purchase your product or try your product. Admin Dashboard: Convenience is when you have essential data available together on the home page. On signing in, the dashboard is the first tab being viewed. It now gives you a holistic view of the entire platform. You now have metrics and key performance indicators directly available on the dashboard. There’s no hassle in searching for any essential data on the platform anymore.

Live Class Schedule: You no longer have to create multiple classrooms for different batches of learners from the same class. Having multiple batches for a classroom has become convenient on the platform. For instance if one classroom requires five different batches for its learners, then all you need to do is create five different schedules (batches) under the schedule tab. Each schedule created identifies a session or group of sessions assigned to that particular schedule (batch). If learners for a classroom are differentiated based on time availability then schedules can be created accordingly. Schedules are created to segregate and maintain groups of instructors, users and sessions easily for classrooms.

Live Class Calendar: Live classes are created in abundance during a day/week/month. They can be repetitive or just a single session. But how does one know the distribution of live classes that are created? The calendar helps in understanding the distribution of every session for each schedule. Every session created for all the schedules will be viewed in the calendar tab. You can also use the filter tab to view only the sessions created for a particular schedule. It becomes easy to manage and view live class sessions charted for the day/week/month.

Live Class Calendar with Session Status: A lot of live classes are created on a platform on a regular basis. But how do you know the status of each class? Every live class session created comes with a set of status components. It is easy to keep track of upcoming sessions, rescheduled sessions and suspended sessions, completed sessions along with their time and resource materials attached, both on the admin and user end.

User Tags and Schedule Tags: Some schedules (batches) need to be assigned only to specific users/instructors. Here’s where tags come handy. User tags and schedule tags go hand-in-hand. Lets say, trial users (with the tag “trial”) need to attend one live session then, they can be mapped to a schedule using the trial tag. If an instructor or specific user/users need to be a part of a particular schedule (tag eg: Math - Batch 1), they can be easily mapped to a schedule using the tag “Math - Batch 1”. Simply put tags are used to identify one person or groups of people across a classroom. Schedules and users can have n-number of tags, the system will easily map users specific to schedules based on the same tag names.

P.S: If a schedule has no tags in a classroom, every session can be viewed by every user of the classroom.

Data Table Pagination: It can be hard to navigate through numerous user data and if scrolling is the only way to go, it can be pretty frustrating. Easily navigate through data tables in your platform pagination view. This view helps the table load faster with multiple shorter pages supporting easier navigation through enormous amounts of student data. Now, you no longer have to wear out your mouse/mouse pad by scrolling endlessly through the data table.

Search Field (Activity, Users, Payments, People and Instructors View): It’s easy to search for users and instructors when they are in small numbers. But what happens when the learners are more than 50 or 100 or much more? One cannot scroll through pages of users data only to find that specific user. Here’s where the search field comes into play. When you want to pull up a specific user’s details, all you have to do is type in their name in the search tab and the platform will display only that particular user’s data. No more endless scrolling and page navigation to retrieve data.

Payment Filter: Payments are an important part of your institute. It is essential to understand the nature of payment across all users on the platform. The payment filter helps you filter out data based on initiated transactions, failed transactions and successful transactions. Any filter chosen will pull up all users mapping the transaction nature. You can also download the transactional data for each filter using the download option.

Embedding Resources: Providing diverse resources for users to comprehend your course better is the best way to pass on knowledge. Passing knowledge is great! But what about passing from external website content  to your learners? Wouldn’t it be great if users can view these embedded resources from the platform directly without having to redirect to third party websites? Here’s where iframe plays a crucial role. Iframe lets you embed resources in your products and classrooms directly from the text editor thereby letting users view these resources directly from the platform without being redirected to the resource file’s web page.

Instamojo Payment Gateway: A much awaited feature update is the integration of a new payment gateway - Instamojo! So far the platform supported the integration of Razorpay only. Upon many requests and feedback, in addition to Razorpay, Instamojo can also be integrated to the platform now.

Assignment Submissions Download: In offline classes tracking assignment submissions were easier, with online classes it was practically hard to keep track of every assignment done and submitted. With the new download submissions feature, it is now easy to track and have records of all assignment submissions done in a classroom, all at once!

Discussion Channels: In a physical classroom, learners discuss and clarify doubts with their instructors directly, but with online classes, Classroom learners needed a channel to put forward their query, clarify doubts or help clarify others doubts, engage in various social interactions etc. That’s where the discussion channels comes handy. In addition to Q&A  Mode, the channels can also act as a chat room space among the instructors and learners. Every user can interact with other learners through the diverse components available in the channel. A user can explain concepts well through text, while another can explain well through an audio or video at a click of a button in the browser without the need for any external software to record!. Another user may find relevant resources, such as pdfs/files/reference urls/gifs etc. to share with other learners. In every case the discussion channels have built-in components that address every type of solution to be discussed, without having to worry about external tools to  create and upload relevant content.

Schedule Attachment to Classrooms: Wouldn’t it be great to collaborate with different classrooms for sessions together?(Heard combined classes in school ?)  It’s now possible to bring different classrooms of your institute for common sessions together. Let’s say you have a classroom focusing on Biology and another focusing on Psychology and you would like to conduct a common live class session between these two classrooms then, the classroom having a schedule (eg. Biology) can attach the other classroom (eg. Psychology) with the help of the classroom attachment feature in the schedule created. Now, learners present in Biology and learners present in Psychology can now access the session present under one common schedule. Conducting common sessions among classrooms is just an attachment away ;)

User and Profile Data: There are times when you wish to download just basic user details but there are also times where you wish to have detailed information about the learners ! The profile schema allows you to create a submission form of your choice and also download these valuable user information for further analysis.

Microsoft Clarity Integration: Every institute owner needs data on user behaviour or user interaction on their web platform. Microsoft Clarity is the best analytics tool to understand the user behaviour. On top of its benefits, it is also free to use! Metrics such as website usage statistics, session recording and heatmaps help you comprehend how users are interacting with your website. Microsoft Clarity can be easily integrated with the platform to track down useful web metrics.

Lottie Block Preview in Classroom: Lottie animations help in giving that creative edge to your classrooms. With the preview feature in place, admins can now preview their Lottie blocks, alter block dimensions or change the background for the animation before sharing it in their classroom. 

Full-Screen Mode for SCROM Block on User Side: The best way for learners to learn is through perceiving and comprehending. EdisonOS helps learners to achieve clarity through SCROM blocks shared on the platform. SCROM blocks can now be viewed on full screen by learners. With the help of the full-screen view, the SCROM file is formatted to fit the learner’s screen, helping them visualise and understand the file much better.

Download Zoom - Live Class Recording in Admin Side: There are times when you would like to save the recorded live session on your local system for future reference/use. EdisonOS has now enabled admins to download these recorded sessions, from the platform, onto the local system. Coupons and Promotion: A ticket to redeem discounts and rebates while purchasing a product. With the new coupon feature, you can generate coupons and promotions across products to encourage more orders from potential customers. The admin. can choose the type of discounts, redemption limits or coupon codes they would add to each promotion.

Assignment Submission: Your learners can submit their assignments along the course with ease. With various settings like file format, multiple file submissions, setting up of deadlines, granting permission to edit the assignment after submission etc., it becomes easy for your students to submit their work on time and convenient for the admin. and instructor to keep track of the uploaded assignments.

HLS Video Support: Videos are HLS encoded, which means your videos can easily be streamed and viewed on iPhones as well.

Classroom Progress: An apt feature to track the progress of every learner. As an instructor, you would want your students to grasp as much as they can and ensure the gap in their learning is at the slightest.

The activity feature enables you to see which courses have been completed, which ones are yet to be started by each learner etc., making it easier for instructors to understand the struggles of each student and help them cope with their online course.

Billing Address: Make purchases and check-outs secure through the billing address feature, an optional feature set from the admin. panel. Suppose you wish to ensure that people with valid billing addresses can only acquire your products.  In that case, you can do so to maintain an additional level of security during procurement, maintain your GST rates based on the state mentioned in the address, and manage all your e-commerce logistics. However, If you wish for all your potential customers to purchase products from your platform without an address, you can skip this step in its entirety.

Add-to-Cart: The shopping cart is a temporary place to store a list of items to be purchased, and your customers have the option to add products from your platform store to the cart directly. This helps them choose from a wide variety of products and make the payment once and for all, rather than paying every time for multiple products.

The add-to-cart feature makes it easier for your customers during check-out and allows them to re-check all the products added. This eventually allows you to package your classrooms better!

Live Class Recording: Classroom recording entitles the teacher to record while giving live online classes. It helps in promoting quality learning and makes the process of learning easy. This feature allows your students who have missed out on a live session to view the class from the platform later on when needed. You do not have to worry about downloading and uploading recorded live classes while the platform does it for you at a click of a button.

Admin. UI Upgrade: We have amped up the admin UI for convenient usage, where you can now easily create classroom, products, new posts and also easily enroll new users in your platform.

Discussion Forum: A two-way communication forum where you and your learners can actively participate and discuss, on the platform, various topics. Only the admin. has rights to create multiple channels for discussion while the learners can post their doubts, questions and more. Unless you toggle the discuss tab in your classroom settings, students will not view the discussion forum from their end.

Note: We will be flushing out the data after two weeks, and then make the discussion forum live for usage. Until then you can play around with the feature and explore it.

Website Optimisation:  You must be wondering how you can enhance your website’s potential to drive business goals. Website Optimisation is the way to do it. This update helps you optimise individual pages on your website. Page optimisation is done to ensure your page is SEO friendly, and it ranks better in search engines for people to know your page. It also helps in rendering your page better and loads your page in a faster improvised time. You can choose which page needs to be optimised, which doesn’t, you can halt a page from being further optimised etc. 

SSO (Single Sign On): Single sign-on makes it easier for users to access multiple applications and websites with one set of credentials. In other words, SSO works based upon a trust relationship set up between an application and an identity provider. This trust relationship is often based upon a certificate exchanged between the identity provider and the application to know it is coming from a trusted source. Currently we only support Google SSO and a lot more providers coming soon! You can use this guide to set up the SSO.

Tip:  Avoid updating your logo in the process to gain access to the key and secret code immediately, else Google will take time to verify.

Classroom Access Days Restriction: You can limit the access period for your classrooms. Any classroom given to a learner as ‘Full Access without Product’ can have a set number of days within which the learner has to finish the course. You can set up the access period in days or with an expiration date. The learner can view the courses that are in progress, completed or expired from their dashboard. (But remember, the default access period is 100 years.)

Note: If you choose to update your access period for a classroom after already setting an access period, then you must know that only your forthcoming learners will have access to the updated period. If you wish to grant an extension for a particular learner, you can always change their access period personally in Classroom User settings.

Product Trial Access Restrictions: There are circumstances where you would want your learners to try out a particular product’s course before they can buy right. That’s where Trial Access for products comes into the picture. You can set a trial period for a product you wish to sell, the default period being seven days. The learner can try out courses bundled in the product before they buy them.

Video Subtitle: Don’t you wish your students had the facility of accessing videos with subtitles so that their learning isn’t deterred in any way. Our new feature update supports video files in ‘SRT’ format, where a learner can view the video along with subtitles from their dashboard. 

P.S: YouTube videos cannot be provided with subtitles. 

Product Org. Schema: To give you a simple understanding of organisation schema, it is essential to confirm who you are and what you do with a machine. It also is a significant SEO boost for your firm.

Calendar Sync: All your learners can now individually sync in their calendars, if they wish to, with your academy to avoid missing out on any forthcoming session scheduled. Any session planned from your end will be updated on the user’s Google calendar automatically.

Remember: Currently, only Google calendars can sync in, and this feature is optional from your learner’s end.

User profile concurrent login restrictions: EdisonOS releases new functionality of Concurrent login restrictions which prohibits multiple logins from the same user account. This only means that your learner is prevented to multiple logins using the same user name and password from any other web/mobile browser. When the user logs in after hitting credentials from a separate browser, the oldest active session terminates and a new interactive session becomes active. 

This functionality will discourage your student from sharing their account credentials with anyone else who otherwise could have access to your learning contents or attending to your scheduled live lectures from more than one device.

Pre-set Filters to Store: This is an update to the already existing version of product filters which you were using. With this update, learners can now use ‘multi-select’ in the product filters (instead of single select in the earlier version). You can create these combinations of selections to generate unique URLs that you can share with stakeholders with preconfigured filters applied, avoiding any hassles of instructing the users on which filters to apply. 

Quality Publishing / Tentative Draft:  The publish or draft update lets you create a product and keep it in draft stage till you are confident to publish it to your users. It also works as a reverse option where you can unpublish an existing product and take it down from the listing store. Certainly, comes handy when your classroom is at a building stage or when you want to put a halt to new enrolments. 

Specifics of Website URL (Slug): A slug (Yes, we have a thing for fancy technical terms!) is the piece of the URL that identifies the specific website page you’re on. Simply put, it’s the part of the URL that explains the page’s content. Yes! You can now define your custom URLs for your products. This feature is particularly useful for your SEO. 

Limit Purchase Quantity: “Overbooking” is a common phenomenon in events like – live classes and webinars or in new age terminology the meeting room capacity is limited. To address this problem, we have aimed at limiting the number of products you want to sell so that you do not have to paint a sorry figure for an over-booked class. You can also genuinely use this feature if you want any product (apart from a live class or webinar) to be limited to users. 

Substantial Discount: Who doesn’t love discounts? Discounts are the best way to lure a customer in, it’s the universal truth. You can now provide a discount to your users on the listed price and trust us, it’s the best way to promote conversion based on impulsive behaviour.

Meta Information: We haven’t limited SEO tags just for your platform, we have now taken it a notch up by providing SEO tags even for your products. Wondering how it could be helpful? It helps you reap long – term benefits out of your SEO efforts. We know you can’t risk a benefit like this!

News Centre (Global Communication): If you’re looking for a mode of communication with your learners then news centre is the way to go. You can share interesting news, updates, events etc. and also use the module to listen to your learner’s comments. But remember this feature is used across the platform.

Notice board (Classroom specific): Did we just transport you to your classroom? Well, the notice board feature is built keeping its classroom functionality in mind. It is used on our platform to give classroom – specific updates like – a welcome kit, new content, live class schedule, assignments, expert talk, deadlines etc. Remember that the feature is specific to each classroom.

SCORM (Content-type): Shareable Content Object Reference Model is a collection of standards and specifications for web-based electronic educational technology. It defines communications between client-side content and a host system, which is commonly supported by LMS. At Edison, you can currently upload SCORM content up to 200 MB. 

Controlled Carousel in Website: Our website builder has some more updated features! We are now supporting carousel. With this feature, you can add rolling banner images, testimonials to your website. Your website now has a story to tell. 

Extended Accordion: If your website displayed all the FAQs, it would be easier for your learners and users to search their questions faster. That’s where the accordion comes into play. Password Reset (Admin Panel): A major feature update is the password reset feature. It is now possible for you to reset the password for any user from the admin panel. It is very handy when the user needs help with account recovery. There’s no more hassle associated with resetting your password.

To give your visitors the best experience, we've updated the dropdown menu feature on our website builder. Now they can easily access various courses, programs, activities, and events on your website, without having to navigate much on your website.

Drip content - With this feature you will now be able to drip the learning content (curriculum) by the following

Specific date - You can easily Configure the date of drip.

Course Enrollment date - Drip content is based on the enrollment date for the classroom.

Start date - This drip is based on the date in which the student first accessed the classroom

Product classification - This feature allows you to classify the products at multiple dimensions/sub-dimensions.
